The following is a letter thanking the charity for helping a little girl who hopefully will pull through her treatment. Their options ran out in Belarus because the Belarus government do not recognize the medicine so it is not available, until the charity stepped in. It just shows how much these families need our help, not just to bring the children out for one month but also to save their childrens lives. Please look at the photos attatched sarah x

Dear Friends!
We are very grateful for the help to Lolita in her fight for life. She is a really marvellous girl. Every member of our unit is her big fan and we all care for her wellbeing. We are specifically saddened by current situation when we know that this girl can be saved but our hands are not long enough to reach for necessary medicine. This is one of many sad examples. Following bone marrow transplantation Lolita caught a very severe infection and the only antibiotic that helps her is tazobactam. Unfortunately it is not available in our country at all. This is a truly horrible case where we watch a child dying only due to bureaucratic barriers.
Thanks God there are people in this world who still care for these children! Thanks to your quick response and actions this child managed to survive, accept the transplant and has a chance to live! We can say for sure that we are dealing with a miracle.
We heard many worm words about your charity from our ex-patients who visited the UK for health recuperation. We were also very pleased to meet Linda Walker during her recent visit to the cancer hospital. We were taken by her open character and desire to help as many children as possible.
We understand and appreciate all the hard work, tireless efforts and continuous generosity shown by members of your charities. We know that it is a collective work of thousands of individuals and we want to thank them all personally. We want them to know what their efforts achieve great results.
It is good to know that there are still people who are indifferent to hardships faced by individuals and families located in other countries. Such people managed to keep their humanity in this reckless and selfish world ever rushing and ignoring little lives. It will be a great disaster if such strong bonding which invisibly links people from different countries is put under a threat of destruction&ldots;&ldots;
I am attaching a picture of our little treasure patient. Lolitas family cannot express enough gratitude for saving their daughters life and giving them this invaluable opportunity of happiness!
With our warmest wishes,
Julia Mareika and all the members of
the Department for Bone Marrow
Transplantation.
